Poster Presentation Details:

All posters are limited to 4 ft in width and 3 ft in height (the maximum possible height is 4ft!)  (Note that this is slightly smaller than the width at many conferences, so please double check your poster dimensions when preparing). We will provide material to put up your posters. Note the previous plan to place some of the posters on large windows was dropped. Therefore it is not necessary for you to print your poster on heavier paper to reduce the back light effect. If you have any questions regarding the poster sessions send an email to the contact person for each session).

Here the details for the two poster sessions (for paper numbers see the table of titles and authors in the abstract proceedings):

Call for Posters:

We still have some space for more posters and therefore still accept abstracts. Submit your poster abstract before Oct. 1 2005 and register on-line latest by Oct. 4th if you still want to present a poster. We encourage particularly students to present a poster (possible free registration and accommodation!). A 400-word abstract for those interested in still presenting a poster should be submitted to Martin Doyle, Department of Geography, University of North Carolina, mwdoyle@email.unc.edu (see call for posters at the end of this page).

We are soliciting abstracts for poster sessions during the BGS 2005. Of particular interest are empirical, theoretical, and modeling investigations of geomorphic and ecological links that occur at the whole ecosystem scale. We particularly encourage submissions from a variety of disciplines including geomorphology, ecology, hydrology, soil science, engineering, biogeochemistry, and other related fields.

Possible themes of interest include:

bulletGeomorphic influences on biogeochemistry, nutrient cycling, and primary productivity
bulletEcological influences on geomorphic processes
bulletGeomorphic and ecological links across a range of trophic levels within ecosystems
bulletVariability in geomorphic and ecosystem processes at different scales
bulletCoupled modeling of geomorphic and ecosystem processes
bulletApplications of geomorphology and ecosystem ecology to environmental management and restoration.
